The Ham Sandwich 2000

"MTV essentially killed 'American Bandstand' and 'Solid Gold,' because music videos are an easier way for pop artists to gain television exposure."

Don Cornelius

The Ham Sandwich Volume 4 #7 (November 2023)

It's been a while, hasn't it, my sweet, sweet lunch meats? Have you missed my rantings and ravings? I know I left things on kind of a sour note with the grammatical errors that were the article on mass shootings. How dare I speak badly about the heroism of a few mass shooters using their God-given right to cull the population of a country of lunatics. Oh well.

I am going to take things down a little bit and just talk about some fan-made music videos.

So enjoy.

Some Cool Fan Videos

TISM - Everyone Else Has Had More Sex Than Me

TISM is a satirical dance/rock band out of Australia. They achieved some notoriety in Australia and never really made it big in America. This may be the first time some of you have heard of them. Anyway, this music video was made by a fan for their song, Everyone Else Has Had More Sex Than Me. It was made as a contest to create a music video for this song. I think this person did a pretty good job of capturing the essence of the song itself and the humor behind it.

Wantaways - The Turning Point

I don't know what it is, but there seems to be a message with this video. Something about...nope, no, I lost it. It's a pretty extraordinary music video especially when you look at the fact that this whole video was pretty much made by one person. Animated by Steve Cutts with music from the Wantaways.

I hope it haunts you as it did me.

Zeromancer - Dr. Online (Rico Remix)

Here's a shameless video plug for a music video about the statistics of suicide. The video was made quite a while ago, so those statistics are probably way off by now. Also, this was made before there was such a thing as High Definition video, so the quality isn't all that great. Amazing video by an amazing creator though. Not since Jesus Christ, has such an amazing person walked the earth as the creator of this video.

Marilyn Manson - John Wick

Now here we start on to videos that are essentially music videos set to movie clips. Well not everyone has a camera...wait, yeah we all have cameras. Well, I guess most of us don't have the talent or confidence to shoot something cool and make a music video out of it. Oh well, these are good too.

The Prodigy - The Day is My Enemy

Well edited. There I said it. Not that the visuals are super stunning, but what else do you expect from the source material of Fury Road? Amazing still that this is just the first part of the film.

Breaking Benjamin - So Cold

Slower editing, but still great visuals. A bit older of a video.

Post Malone - Hollywood's Bleeding

Well, this production was done by some people who decided to use their cameras and skills to make their own video for this song.

Eminem - Godzilla

Pretty wicked animation. That's all I'll say.

Rezonate - Canvas

If you are reading this in the future, then you're probably not impressed by AI-created content because all your content is made by AI, but back when I wrote this article it was still fairly new and this video was pretty neat.

High Tech Low Life - Die Krupps

Yes, I know. Not another music video made with clips from a movie. Well, you know what? Deal with it. Many fan-made music videos are also rip off from films. And I think that's pretty cool anyway.

Covenant - Like Tears in Rain

Clips from...something. I'm not sure where the clips came from. Perhaps a movie, or other music videos. Pretty trippy.

Unstoppable

More music. More Movie clips.

The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny - Lemon Demon

Cheap animation, but who needs everything to be perfect? This song and video is pretty funny.

Paint It Black

Good song cover and a decent video.

Sweet Dreams

Again.

Paradelous - Power Slam

Sometimes it feels like they just take the movie and set it to music, and then you see the film and realise it's not entirely the case.

Conclusion

So, for future reference, I promise not to try to be so serious and write the usual unreadable, not read, not paid attention to ramblings of a madman, that no one reads, no one writes, and certainly, no one edits. Well, back to my hole I go. Hopefully, I will rise again and perhaps even see my shadow, signaling four more years of hamminess.
